Abstract
The transport process of solute via advection, dispersion, diffusion and some basic chemical reactions in the liquid phase of water has been studied in the frame of a coupled numerical model in a multiphase medium. Water flow occurs in both vapour and liquid phases. The governing equations in the basic formulation are written in terms of soil displacements, water and air pressure, temperature and concentration of contaminant. These equations are solved by finite element method. In this paper some examples of transport process in isothermal and undeformable cases are presented to validate the developed model. The results are compared to the results of the other numerical model and experimental observation.
