Businesses in the contemporary world are bridled by crises, and leaders play a pivotal role in their management. As businesses grow and evolve, so do the values and moral beliefs of their employees working in them. Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana serve as valuable knowledge resources, providing essential lessons in various aspects of management and valuable solutions drawn from the humongous Indian system of ethics. The insights derived from these texts can serve as a guiding compass for contemporary leaders to practice leadership, based on a rich cultural foundation rooted in religion and deep philosophical insights.

The proposed chapter aims to review the wisdom embedded in ancient scriptures, specifically in Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana, and extend their applicability to the concept of leadership, which is expanding because of remote work. Exploring teaching from ancient scriptures can yield valuable insights into dealing with uncertainties in the business world. Through a critical examination and synthesis of the teachings drawn from these texts, this study seeks to elucidate how leaders in modern organizations effectively utilize their teachings to address the rapidly evolving business landscape. This chapter explores the wisdom embedded in ancient Indian texts, specifically Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Valmiki Ramayana, which will not only help leaders understand their leadership style but also empower them with the wisdom and knowledge required to succeed in this hypercompetitive world. The authors also highlight the importance of leadership in times of crisis and seek insights from ancient texts to navigate through these challenges.
