This paper starts with investigating the use of a laboratory-scale auger in the construction of sand-cement and sand-cement-waste columns and assesses the resulting columns in terms of unconfined compressive strength, Young's modulus and load-displacement behaviour. It then investigates and assesses the results from a full-scale site trial. Finally it attempts to correlate the laboratory-scale and full-scale results.
