This paper focuses on the possibility how to design clay liners of waste disposals more efficiently in comparison to the requirements of the relating norms. The approach to more effective design comes from one dimensional analytical solution of the contaminant transport equation for simplified assumptions. The Author graphically shows the influences of each transport process (advection, diffusion and sorption) on the contaminant movement through the clay liner. At the end the influence of the values of coefficients (k, D, Rd) of each transport mechanism is evaluated.
