A.R. Kershaw, CEGB, Barnwood Mr Hamilton answered many of the criticisms in my paper with regard to computers. The Heysham 2 computer was available to support full load from week 23. I understand the Torness computer was not available until after that date. What caused the delay?
J. Hamilton, Paper 10 The computer was available two years before loading and was used to produce commissioning logs. It has delayed power raising. The quality assurance of safety related software was concentrated on instead. The extent of software increased during the design of Torness.
R.A. Fahey, CEGB, Barnwood In paper 9 it was stated that microprocessor based equipment had been used extensively on a number of contracts. What were some of the more serious problems encountered?
