DR G. LANGBEIN (URENCO Ltd): In Paper 22, Fig.l illustrates the gas flow in a step cascade. The diagram shows a common feed to the product flow from the fourth step and the waste flow from the third step. As these two latter flows must be of different composition there must be mixing losses if they both mix with a feed of one composition. Can you comment on the magnitude of the losses you would expect and the reason for choosing this method of introducing feed? Is it, for instance, to enlarge the flexibility with respect to tails assay and enrichment or to reduce the overall mixing losses at the re flux points?
