There are several hazards connected with being the final speaker at a Conference, including the very strong probability that those who have preceded you will have discussed at length the topics that you plan to talk about. Fortunately, Philippe Hamon was kind enough to send to me an advance draft of his paper, which quite thoroughly and accurately covers the purposes and objectives of the Airports Association Council International.
Although he has approached them from the perspective of the European Region of AACI, the global program is parallel to that of the Region while on a much broader basis.
I will take a few minutes to expand on Philippe's comments putting them on a worldwide perspective and will then get on with a discussion of my expectations as to what the air transportation system might be like in the year 2000.
