With reference to Federal Law No. 4/yr 1992 regarding the establishment and organization of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) and Cabinet Decree No. 3/yr 2008 regarding the approval of the Organization Structure of MOHESR.

The Center for Higher Education Information and Statistics (CHEDS) is established in MOHESR as part of the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA).
