About the Authors

Osamuyimen Enabulele <osamuyimen.enabulele@gcu.ac.uk> is currently a doctoral researcher at the Department of Law, Economics, Accountancy and Risk, Glasgow School for Business & Society, Glasgow Caledonian University. Osamuyimen holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Law from the University of Dundee, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria. He also has a postgraduate certificate in Research Method from Glasgow Caledonian University. He is an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and has worked as a legal practitioner in various law firms in Nigeria with experience covering general legal practice. His main area of interest includes Environmental Regulations, Sustainable Development, International Law of Marine Resources and European Union Environmental Law. He has participated in several workshops, seminars and conferences. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association as well as an associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, UK.

Emel Esen <emeloz@yildiz.edu.tr; emelozarslan@gmail.com> completed her Master’s degree in Human Resources Management of Business Administration Department from Yildiz Technical University. She earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior at Marmara University, Turkey. She is currently Associate Professor in Yıldız Technical University, Turkey. Maria Alejandra Gonzalez-Perez <mgonza40@eafit.edu.co> (PhD, MBS, Psy) is Full Professor of Management at Universidad EAFIT (Colombia). Maria Alejandra is the vice president of Administration at the Academy of International Business (AIB) (2015–2018), coordinator of the Colombian universities in the virtual institute of the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) since 2009, Distinguished Fellow of the Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats; and Editor-in-Chief of the business journal AD-minister. Dr. Gonzalez-Perez holds a PhD in International Business and Corporate Social Responsibility, and a Master’s degree in Business Studies in Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She also did postdoctoral research at the Community Knowledge Initiative (CKI) in NUI Galway. Prof. Gonzalez-Perez is the past Head of the Department of International Business (2009–2013) and former Director of the International Studies Research Group (2008–2013) at Universidad EAFIT (Colombia). Prior to her positions in Colombia, she worked as a researcher in various organisations such as the Centre for Innovation and Structural Change (CISC), Irish Chambers of Commerce and the Economics of Social Policy Research Unit (ESPRU) in Ireland.

Campbell R. Harvey <cam.harvey@duke.edu> is Professor of Finance at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is also a Visiting Researcher at the University of Oxford. Harvey served as Editor of the Journal of Finance from 2006 to 2012. Prof. Harvey obtained his doctorate at the University of Chicago in business finance. He has served on the faculties of the Stockholm School of Economics, the Helsinki School of Economics, and the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He has also been a visiting scholar at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Svenska Handelshögskolan in Helsinki.

Alejandro Herrera-Cano <alejandro.herrera.cano@nmbu.no> is working towards achieving a BSc degree in International Environment and Development Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Alejandro has also performed studies in Process Engineering at Universidad EAFIT. His core interests are natural resource management, gender and development, social and ecological resilience, and development and environmental economics.

Carolina Herrera-Cano <cherre16@eafit.edu.co> (MIB, IB) holds Master’s degree in International Business from Universidad EAFIT and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the same institution. Ms. Herrera-Cano works as adjunct lecturer at Universidad EAFIT in CSR and International Management courses. She is also a founding member of the “Trade, Investment and Development Observatory.” Carolina has been linked to the study of issues regarding international trade, development, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and gender from various research projects with the academic sector and governmental institutions, and international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank. She served as conference manager of the 32nd Regional P166 UNCTAD course on key issues on the international economic agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean – a project at Universidad EAFIT with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia.

Adem Hiko <adex.2010ph@gmail.com> attends the PhD in Biomedical Sciences at Dahelem Research School FU Berlin and has a MSc in Tropical Vet. Public Health and DVM in Veterinary Medicine from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Currently he is working with the rank of Associate Professor as lecturer, researcher and editorial manager of East African Journal of Sciences at Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He published research articles related to zoonoses, livestock health and food safety. Some of his publications are on topics such as goat tuberculosis, E. coli, beef microbial load, rabies, nemathodiasis and food processing. He supervised several DVM research class students on topics related to animal, human and environmental health.

Francisco Jimenez Manterola <fjimenezm@gmail.com> is Industrial Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds an MBA from Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business (NC, USA). Francisco currently works as manager in Asset Chile.

Valtteri Kaartemo <valtteri.kaartemo@utu.fi> is University Teacher at Turku School of Economics, University of Turku, Finland. Kaartemo is a co-author of several books, book chapters, conference papers and peer-reviewed articles. His research interests are market shaping, service research, innovation management, international entrepreneurship, value co-creation, and particularly various processes in and around these phenomena. Aside his research activities, he advises Masar, a smart energy company primarily focusing on deploying mobile solar power plants in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Kaartemo is also currently co-directing a documentary on the development of solar energy markets in the MENA region.

Moses Kibe Kihiko <mokihiko@yahoo.com> is a researcher on environment, weather, and climate-related as well as business issues both as a worker and a consultant and founder CEO of Practicum Leadership Consultancies (PLC) Co. Ltd and has authored several articles and book chapters such as, “Women Empowerment through Government Loaned Entrepreneurship Teams (GLETs) in Kenya” included in the book Research Handbook on Entrepreneurial Teams: Theory and Practice to be published by Edward Elgar Publishing Limited, “Industrial Parks as a Solution to Expanding Urbanization: A Case of Sub-Saharan Africa” to be included in the book Urbanization and Its Impact on Socio-Economic Growth in Developing Regions, and, “Managerial Strategies for Business Sustainability during Economic Turbulent Time: A Case of Public Listed Companies (PLC) in Kenya” to be included in the book Managerial Strategies for Business Sustainability during Economic Turbulent Time, all to be published in IGI Global Publishers. Moses is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Business Administration.

Mary Wanjiru Kinoti <mkinoti@yahoo.co.uk; m.kinoti@uonbi.ac.ke> is the Associate Dean of Graduate Business Studies at the School of Business, University of Nairobi, Kenya, and holds a PhD in Business Administration. She has taught at the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), Egerton University (Kenya) and currently is based at the University of Nairobi where she lectures Marketing. Mary has authored several articles and book chapters published in refereed journals and is also working on number of books contextualized for Africa. Dr. Kinoti is the author of a book chapter, entitled, “Women Empowerment through Government Loan Entrepreneurship Teams (GLETs)” included in Research Handbook on Entrepreneurial Teams: Theory and Practice to be published by Edward Elgar Publishing.

Liam Leonard <liam_leonard@yahoo.com> (BA, MPhil, PhD) is the former President of the Sociology Association of Ireland. He was the senior academic and taught modules on Human Rights, Sociology, Criminology, Professional Development and Equality & Diversity on the Irish National Prison Officer Training Programme. The author/editor of over 15 books and numerous journal articles, he is Senior Editor of the Ecopolitics Books Series, the Advances in Sustainability and Environmental Justice Book Series (both with Emerald, UK) and Founding Editor of CRIMSOC Journal of Social Criminology. Dr. Leonard has edited the 2011 Irish issue of the Prison Journal, as well as special issues of Environmental Politics and the Irish Journal of Sociology and the Criminology issue of the Irish Journal of Applied Social Studies. Dr. Leonard was awarded the Sage Publishing Research Excellence Award in New York as well as the Irish NAIRTL Research & Teaching Award in 2012, and has 10 years experience as an academic and lecturer in the National University of Ireland and the Institute of Technology sector. Now resident in Orange County, California, he is an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Department of Sociology & Anthropology at West Virginia University and a Research Fellow with WVU’s Center for the Study of Violence and Conflict Resolution.

Gelgelo Malicha <gelgelo643@gmail.com> attends a DVM program at Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He focuses on livestock health, diseases epidemiology and biostatistics. Currently, he is conducting research on livestock health National Animal Health Diagnostic and Investigation Center (NAHDIC), Ethiopia.

Andres Mesa Botero <andresmesab@gmail.com> is Industrial Engineer from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and MBA from Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business (NC, USA). Andres is CEO of Konkretus in Medellín, Colombia.

Franklin N. Ngwu is Senior Lecturer in Strategy, Finance and Risk Management, Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, Nigeria. He has a PhD in Law and Economics of Banking Regulation, MSc in Economics and Post-graduate Diploma in Development Economics from University of Manchester, UK. In addition, he also has MSc in Comparative Political Economy from Cardiff University, UK, and BSc in Sociology from University of Lagos, Nigeria. He worked in Barclays Bank UK for five years and has lectured at Glasgow School of Business and Society, Glasgow Caledonian University; School of Built Environment and Business, University of Salford; Department of Economics and School of Law, University of Manchester, UK. He has a multi-disciplinary teaching and research interests including Bank Management and Financial Services Regulation, Business Strategy and Risk Management in Financial Institutions, Law and Finance in Emerging Markets, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility, Law and Development Economics. He has presented papers in international/local conferences, contributed many book chapters and published papers in peer-reviewed journals. His last paper on Securitization and Financial Crisis was published by Research in International Business and Finance Journal. He is the author/editor of the corporate governance handbook titled Corporate Governance in Developing and Emerging Markets (Routledge, 2016). He is working on a second book titled Enhancing Board Effectiveness-Institutional, Regulatory and Functional Perspectives for Developing and Emerging Markets. He is a member of several bodies including Society of Corporate Governance Nigeria, British Academy of Management and Institute of Operational Risk, UK.

Arzu Özsözgün Çalışkan <ozsozgun@yildiz.edu.tr; aozsozgun@gmail.com> is an Associate Professor in Accounting and Finance area of Business Administration, Department of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey. She completed her Master’s degree in Business Administration Department from Yildiz Technical University. She earned her PhD in Accounting and Finance at Marmara University, Turkey. Gaunette Sinclair-Maragh <gmaragh@utech.edu.jm> holds a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Washington State University in the United States. Dr. Sinclair-Maragh is an Associate Professor in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Technology, Jamaica. Her areas of research include residents’ support for tourism development, tourism in developing countries, and culture and heritage tourism.

Maria Teresa Uribe-Jaramillo <muribej1@eafit.edu.co> (COL, MA in Southeast Asian Studies, BSc in International Business and Political Science) is a Research Assistant in the Asia Pacific Studies Center at EAFIT University. She has professional experience in the public and private sector in Colombia, Mexico, and China. She was Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia in the Asia Direction (2015) and consular Assistant at the Embassy of Colombia in China (2012). Her research interests are International Relations, Diplomacy, Regional Integration, Public Policy and Sustainability.

Rafael Uribe Uribe <rafauribe@gmail.com> is an Industrial Engineer from EIA (Medellín, Colombia) and MBA from Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business (NC, USA). Has worked in several companies in consumer goods and financial services in Colombia; and he has also served as adjunct lecturer for Universidad EAFIT in Colombia since 2015.

Caroline Voulminot Sontag <carolinevoulminot@hotmail.com> is a CPA from Universidad ORT (Montevideo, Uruguay) and MBA from Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business (NC, USA). She currently works for BD Pharmaceuticals.

Mahdi Zahraa <m.zahraa@gcu.ac.uk> is a Reader in Law in the LEAR Department, Glasgow School for Business & Society, Glasgow Caledonian University. He is specialist in International Law and Middle East Laws with long experience in teaching and providing legal consultations. He has published many articles on various aspects of International Law, International Economic Law, International Contract Law, Contract Negotiation and Drafting, Comparative Law, Middle Eastern and Islamic law, Arbitration and Research Methodology. He was a Visiting Scholar to several Scottish Universities including Glasgow University and Dundee University. He has given expert opinion to courts in the United Kingdom and provided legal consultations to Al-Jazeera Satellite Network. He has extensive experience in supervising MPhil and PhD research students. He participated in leading and teaching Master’s degree programmes in several Scottish universities. He is active in research and participation in many conferences, workshops and seminars and in national and international collaboration initiatives.
