This is the fifth volume of Advances in International Management under the editorial team consisting of Timothy M. Devinney, Torben Pedersen and Laszlo Tihanyi plus Markus Venzin who has been added as a special co-editor on this particular volume. Previous volumes have focused on topics from the general state of research in International Management over location aspects, institutional factors to meta-analysis in IM research.

The main body of this volume focuses on organizational design of the MNC. It tries to create a bridge to the early literature on different organizational models for the MNC – largely captured in the powerful integration-responsiveness framework – and extend this literature by applying insights from other fields and theories. We hope this volume will help bring back organizational design of the MNC as an important research area in International Management.
