First page of Processing, Analysing, and Archiving Standards and Guidelines

The workshop1 discussed a diverse array of topics related to the stages of processing, analysing, and archiving the results of travel surveys. These topics often get considerably less attention than other aspects of travel surveys, although the usability of the information collected is heavily dependent on the quality of these important steps in survey procedure. Thoughts, ideas, and discussions were motivated by two resource papers presented during the workshop meetings, by Sammer (2006) and Levinson and Zofka (2006). Sammer provided a thorough and detailed proposal of classification, terminology, and issues related to the topics of the workshop, while Levinson focused on the issue of archiving and publishing survey results and documentation on the Internet.
