Customized training, development or coaching for leaders sound like logical components to the art of leading any enterprise. There is a lot of external help available for leaders. Yet, former CEO of Murray & Roberts Ltd., Brian Bruce says he knows there are thousands of executives and business owners out there who just do not know what they do not know.
Perhaps leaders have a hard time acknowledging these gaps because they mainly focus on their businesses and get rewarded for it and less on how much the quality of their leadership influences their businesses.
Leadership coaching provides a fit-for-purpose confidential and safe space to improve the quality of leading. There is much more to this type of coaching than focusing on the individual in a specific context. Coaching is increasingly used to improve the entire company so that as a company you operate better as a whole system.
