Jonathan Simm (HR Wallingford) -Given the current legal standards adopted in the Netherlands, can the authors comment on how the risk-based approach was accepted for your project?

Reply by R C Steijn. The last words have probably not yet been said about this project. Flood vulnerability, legal standards, responsibility and other related aspects are currently one of the top issues in the Netherlands. The project that is discussed in the paper (Kennemerstrand) lies in the frontline of these discussions.
