Italian economics are characterised by uncertainties about economic developments and structural problems and bureaucracy that affect the country’s growth potential. Despite having an unemployment rate that remains higher than key euro countries, the economic situation of Italian families is in a phase of improvement where employment is concerned.
Inflation is at low levels, with growth rates of consumer prices lower than those of the main euro area countries. The vitality of Italian companies is known throughout the world and ‘made in Italy’ is a universally recognised advantage to any brand. The private sector in Italy shows a more balanced and positive situation than that of the general government debt and the wealth of Italian families shows a stability linked, in particular, to the component of real estate wealth.
