Elitsa R. Banalieva is an Associate Professor of International Business and Gary Gregg Faculty Fellow at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. She received her Ph.D. in Business Economics and Public Policy from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research focuses on the geographic scope and institutional contexts that enable or constrain the strategies of family and non-family firms, especially from emerging markets in general and transition economies in particular. She has published in journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Management Journal, Management International Review, Global Strategy Journal, and Journal of World Business, among others.
