The PWC Strategy& Eminent Scholar in International Management is an annual award given by the International Management Division of the Academy of Management. The award was previously known as the Booz & Co/Strategy+Business Eminent Scholar award and this year it has been renamed as PWC Strategy & representing the new ownership structure of Booz & Co.
The 2014 awardee was Professor Pankaj Ghemawat, Global Professor of Management and Strategy, Director of Centre for Global Education and Management at the New York University, and the Anselmo Rubiralta Professor of Global Strategy at IESE. Professor Ghemawat was recognized for his contribution to the field of international business and management based upon his long-standing and well-respected work dissecting the nature of global industry structure and the nature of global economy. Professor Ghemawat is not just recognized for being a scholar but also a scholar with an impact on practice, having been named as the youngest “guru” in The Economist’s guide to the greatest management thinkers of all time.
