Arriving at this juncture, we grapple with different emotions. There is a great sense of gratitude that we had the resources to pursue the topic in this multi-perspective way. We hope that this anthology will be widely disseminated, especially in teacher education institutions, to deliver a holistic view of inclusive education to future teachers. We are also grappling with what may be described as a kind of inner restlessness. We have been dealing with this topic for so many years now and yet we seem to keep turning in different directions. One can look at inclusive education from so many angles, and different facets always emerge. This is exactly what we have done with this book. We selected our authors with this very idea in mind, to paint as complex a picture as possible of the circumstances surrounding school inclusion. We have found colleagues who do not describe inclusion as an educational ideal to be implemented everywhere in the world as quickly as possible. On the contrary, with their help, we have tried to put a different perspective on this highly simplified idea of inclusion. We urged them to wonder: What can we learn together from the very different developments and interpretations around the world? The point is to scrutinise the complexities without judgment.
