The search is on to identify stimulating localities where actors are operating in heterarchical formations that utilise unique styles of leadership, which are helping to introduce new sets of entrepreneurial synergies produced in place. Where are these places and more importantly what networks of actors are leading entrepreneurial endeavours? Engaging directly with the entrepreneurial turn of public policy this volume seeks to:

New spatial patterns of development have emerged over recent times, including the rise to prominence of ‘global cities’, ‘megacities’ and ‘megalopolises’, to name but a few. Some of these urban nodes are at the vanguard of creativity; magnets for talent, according to Florida (2002). However, spatial disparities are often increasing within such urban nodes, not to mention across national urban systems and international regions, as the contribution from Huggins, Morgan and Williams attests.
