Although the durability of all types of concrete is recognised worldwide, there are questions concerning its sustainability that need to be addressed. These concern raw materials depletion, energy consumption and other harmful emissions, CO2 and concrete recycling technology. In this keynote paper, attention will be focussed on these issuess, and possible solutions presented.
