The proliferation of legislative bans on critical race theory is currently getting attention! However, as we have shown chapter-by-chapter in this book, critical race theory (CRT) continues to be a powerful analytical lens in examining the history of racial injustices and the dehumanizing educational disparities in the school experiences and academic achievement of students of color and those with specific social and cultural identities across grade and schooling stages. As we have asserted, consistent with the messages of the scholar–practitioners who wrote the chapters in this book, race is not real as it has no biological basis but its major manifestations to racism and many racialized acts are very real, not aberrations, but real and being experienced by diverse students in our schools locally and globally.
