Purpose

This study aims to examine the impact of cutting-edge technologies on achieving Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) through a systematic review of the current literature.

Need for the study

Over time, supply chains (SCs) become increasingly complex, posing more significant sustainability issues and risks to achieving optimal production. Hence, it is creating a serious concern among organizations to enhance SC efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability. This problem can be overcome by integrating the latest technologies with existing SC activities. However, more comprehensive studies need to examine the benefits of these latest technologies in facilitating SSCM. The present study is conducted to address the existing gap.

Methodology

Qualitative research methods are utilized for the current study, employing secondary data from published papers and articles to summarize the impact of cutting-edge technology on the management of sustainable SCs.

Findings

This research has investigated the direct impact of the latest technologies on sustainable practices within the SC. The outcome of the study indicates that the latest technologies have the potential to enhance sustainability economically, environmentally, and socially.

Practical Implications

The study offers valuable insights that can help industry managers, stakeholders, government officials, and regulatory agencies to implement advanced technologies in existing SCs. These insights improve environmental and socioeconomic performance.
