First page of Quantitative Queer Data and Statistical Assumptions

Daniel Rogerson(he/him) is a doctoral candidate at North-West University in South Africa and works in the Psychology department at Northumbria University. His research focuses on gender and sexuality in sports and, his PhD encapsulates this by focusing on transgender inclusion in sports.

Two of the most exciting parts of the research process for me are designing a study and when you finally get to start analysing the data. When conducting research into queer topics, we have an increased likelihood of encountering ‘queer data.’ This is something I have experienced in my doctoral research, particularly in my research investigating how barriers to physical activity impact the relationship between mental well-being and physical activity in cisgender and transgender samples.
