A technology known as augmented reality (AR) has shown to be a useful instrument for boosting tourist interaction and enhancing cultural interpretation at historic sites. This research investigates the integration of AR technology in augmenting the visitor experience and cultural interpretation at religious heritage sites. Through an analysis of literature, case studies, and empirical data, this study examines the influence of AR technology on improving visitor engagement, understanding cultural significance, and preserving religious heritage. The research explores various facets of AR implementation, including technological advancements, user experience design, and cultural preservation strategies. Furthermore, this chapter explores challenges and opportunities associated with integrating AR into religious heritage site interpretation and offers recommendations for future research and practical applications.
