Abstract
Assertiveness encompasses the ability to express one's ideas and feelings in an honest, kind, respectful, and direct manner, as well as the ability to defend one's rights without coercion and without violating the rights of third parties, which favours not only adequate communication but also interpersonal relationships based on good treatment in different contexts. Therefore, this work aims to describe other instruments on Assertiveness, including their psychometric properties that serve as indicators of this construct in various settings, to promote strategies that favour assertive behaviours and communication in different settings. National and international self-report instruments on Assertiveness were identified, almost with a Likert-type response format and good psychometric properties, which can be used to evaluate the continuum between aggressiveness and Assertiveness. Finally, different psychological skills are presented that incorporate objectives, materials, and activities to promote Assertiveness in groups, which will not only help improve communication skills but also favour productive environments focussed on personal and professional success.
