Trade unions function within a constantly evolving political and social landscape. In response, they are reinventing themselves by blending traditional organising techniques with innovative digital communication methods to attract new members and sustain relationships with supporters and stakeholders. The effective articulation of these approaches is crucial for promoting a more ethical and inclusive regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace. Although there are few existing examples, trade unions are increasingly engaging in efforts to address the negative impacts of AI on employment. However, they need to expand their strategic focus and enlarge their strategic repertoire of action to better meet the needs of working people.
