Abstract
This study investigates the dynamics of cross-cultural leadership in a technology-driven world through a systematic literature review, analyzing how leaders navigate diverse teams amid rapid technological advancements. The research emphasizes the importance of understanding cultural variances in decision-making, communication, authority perception, and work habits to effectively bridge cultural differences and leverage diversity. A comprehensive literature review reveals the significant impact of national culture on leadership performance, the role of cultural intelligence (CQ) in managing diverse teams, and the essential competencies required for effective cross-cultural leadership. The methodology involved analyzing 35 peer-reviewed articles from 1997 to 2024, identifying key themes such as ethical dilemmas, cultural disparities, and the influence of technology on leadership practices. The findings emphasize the complexity and importance of cross-cultural leadership in today's globalized business environment. Effective leadership requires not only understanding and respecting different cultural norms and values but also adapting leadership styles to diverse contexts. High CQ is crucial for leaders to navigate cultural differences, build trust, and communicate effectively with global teams. Additionally, ethical behavior is vital in cross-cultural settings to avoid misunderstandings and build trust. Challenges identified include understanding and adapting to different cultures, managing ethical perceptions, addressing consumer behavior and corporate social responsibility (CSR), and fostering effective team dynamics in multicultural settings. Skills such as adaptability, ethical behavior, and strong communication are essential for leaders to manage these challenges successfully.
