While it has many amazing possibilities, there are also some serious problems that come with it. This conceptual exploration aims to shed light on the often-overlooked negative aspects associated with this emerging technology. This chapter explores the potential risks and dangers in the world of metaverse like privacy issues, data security risks, and the potential for people to become addicted to this digital world, which can harm their mental health. Additionally, this chapter has discussed the prevention against dark side of metaverse and ethical concerns and provided recommendations to mitigate risks associated with metaverse like identity theft, cyberbullying, and the confusion between what is real and what is virtual. By examining these negative aspects, this chapter aims to encourage a balanced conversation about the metaverse, suggesting that there is a need for strong rules and ethical guidelines to reduce its harmful effects and ensure that it is a safe and fair place for everyone.
