BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES DR MARTYN HEYES
Martyn Heyes graduated in Civil Engineering from King's College, London, and subsequently completed both Master and Doctorate programmes in Traffic and Transportation topics at the University of Liverpool. His career to date has involved appointments in academia, consultancy and local government.
In the past fifteen years he has held senior positions in Devon, Surrey and Greater Manchester County Councils, and is currently Principal Assistant County Surveyor in Kent with particular responsibility for Transportation. In his current post he is clearly in the front line of developing and implementing the County's International Strategy which not only includes the Local Authority's responsibilities in land-side road and rail infrastructures associated with the Channel Tunnel, but also economic and financial initiatives associated with Kent's port facilities and the considerable development which is currently being attracted.
