This paper reviews recent international programmes and developments with regard to the ageing management and performance of nuclear-related concrete structures. Well-designed ageing management programmes based on inspection and monitoring provide information to engineers and allow verification of the assumptions used in design, confirmation of continued fitness for purpose and identification of maintenance requirements and repair strategies. Condition monitoring provides baseline and trending information that may be used for service life modelling, lifetime prediction and in periodic safety reviews.
