In the contemporary world of increasing multicultural situations, historic world religions have the potential of contributing to the welfare of all humans by appropriately recapturing their traditional visions and values. Multicultural education can facilitate this by empathetic teaching and learning of world religions as part of human heritage and history. The essay specifically deals with the perception of the other/neighbor in Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Sikhism.
