The biomass of the world which sustains all life is shrinking. The scientific evidence is simply overwhelming. A group of renowned scientific experts reviewed all of the scientific evidence that presently exists and concluded that the earth’s future is ghastly; “The scale of the threats to the biosphere and all its lifeforms—including humanity—is in fact so great that it is difficult to grasp for even well-informed experts” (Bradshaw et al., 2021, p. 1). Moreover, even the solutions that can reverse or abate the biomass decay simply are not able to be implemented in time largely due to the lack of political and global leadership coordination (Bradshaw et al., 2021). Moreover, the leaders who are motivated as well as in the position to act are supported by groups of individuals who are largely indifferent, skeptical or averse to any suggestion that humans are destroying the biosphere. Among these various groups, one such group, Christians, are emblematic of how divided belief and corresponding support is regarding our collective responsibility to the environment.
