There is ample evidence supporting the crossover hypothesis; job demands are transmitted from employees to their partners, affecting their psychological and physical health. This chapter delineates possible mechanisms that underlie the crossover process. The chapter relates to several gaps in crossover research: The role of gender, positive crossover, and crossover and emotional contagion among team members. The chapter concludes with recommendations for future research and the implications for management theory and practice.
