In the three previous chapters theories of the development of the subject have been elaborated by focusing on the dynamics between the person and his or hers cultural environment, conceptualized as the process of subjectification. Each chapter addresses this process quite differently and highlights different aspects of this process. In the following we will outline some ideas on the subjectification processes and (developmental) psychology in general, thereby addressing features common to all three chapters.

In during so we wish to emphasize how the three chapters differ from mainstream psychology and offer new and important conceptions to the relation between the individual and hers or his environment. Based on this we return to the chapters one by one, and discuss their approaches and how we see them relating the developmental perspective outlined.
