The urgent call for anti-racist action is one that continues to ring through the halls of the academy yet is unfairly labored to Staff and Faculty of color, activists, Scholars of Color, and Students of Color. These calls continue to feel isolating and diminished by the lack of racial justice action from postsecondary constituents, leaders, administrators, and allies. While the calls are loud, postsecondary systems continue to weave separation, silos, and competing interests among collective groups of people. To achieve equity in educational opportunities and environments, there is a need to engage more people in identifying racialized systemic complexities. This requires sitting in the messiness of a fantasized equitable world, in tandem with the realness of living in what exists and persists through performative actions.
