The 21st century represents the transformation of society with accelerated technological innovation (OECD, 2019). Therefore, today’s people need to have competences that allow them to distinguish reliable information and critically examine information (Schmidt et al., 2020). Because 21st century people face a learning context that includes technological devices and resources (OECD, 2019). This means that especially students, teachers and the academic world need to specialize in ICT, be competent in using technology and use technology appropriately in both personal and academic fields (Díaz-García et al., 2020; Olszewski & Crompton, 2020). In this context, today’s education system is becoming extremely important in gaining technological competence, qualifications and skills. In this context, higher education and universities are on the verge of a major transformation due to the rapid advancement of technology and the increasing importance of its effective use in education.
