The integration of technology as a fundamental educational tool is transforming nursing education. A still pervasive question is not whether to use technology but rather “how-to” integrate technology into the nursing curriculum. The infusion of technology into higher education is a complex process. Nursing educators and administrators need resources that reflect integration strategies, especially when a curriculum is already in place. Integrating innovative educational technology into the nursing curriculum could be more intuitive. The current literature does not expand on or specify integration strategies. For this reason, the authors created the faculty administrators student technology strategic integration model (FAST SIM) to impart a richer understanding of the relationships between integration influences when contending with developing thoughtful and well-planned strategies.
