The political, social, and civil unrest in America amid a global pandemic calls for pedagogical practices that connect science, culture, and the community. This chapter showcases the enactive delivery and vicarious learning experiences in PreK-5 online classrooms using the inquiry process and nature of science. The unique aspect of these lessons includes using the critical lens of social justice in integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in teaching science lessons. The current classroom landscape demands instructional practice that addresses the need of all students, especially those in urban and rural communities whose lived experiences differ from their predominantly white teachers.
