Induction into the field of education can be thought of as a bridge between teacher certification or preparation programs and teaching students in the classroom (Smith & Ingersoll, 2004). Types of induction can vary widely with each country, state, territory, school, administration, and individual (Hahs-Vaughn & Scherff, 2008; Mosley et al., 2022). Some programs may involve multiple meetings, significant professional development opportunities, or various assignments to be completed while other programs may only involve one session (Hahs-Vaughn & Sherff, 2008; Mosely et al., 2022). The potential for a lack of induction within the first years of teaching can be detrimental to the process of seeking and developing a professional teaching identity.
