In this chapter, we review the existing literature on two extensively researched constructs in organizational behavior: leader-member exchange (LMX) and organizational justice. We also develop a model regarding the relationship between LMX and justice. Fundamentally, we assert that LMX and organizational justice are two mechanisms that result in some similar outcomes through different social exchange processes. Based on a review of both conceptual and empirical literature, we pose several research questions regarding the relationship between LMX and organizational justice. We con-elude with suggestions for future research that may help clarify the complex LMX and justice relationship.
