All universities in Central Asia have now diversified the sources of their resources. But where do they get their monies? In what, ways are they able to generate resources like western institutions? This essay tries to answer these questions in the light of how resources are generated in higher education in the United States, and it makes some recommendations how institutions in Kazakhstan can improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of their resource generation.
