Julio C. Canedo, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Management at the Marilyn Davies College of Business of the University of Houston Downtown. He is certified in coaching, human resource management (HRM), and ethics. Member of academic and professional organizations like the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Academy of Management, the Southwest Academy of Management, and the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He published the book The Intelligent Startup—A New Model of Coordination for Tomorrow’s Leaders. His research has been published in such outlets as Organizational Dynamics, the Journal of Managerial Psychology, Research in Human Resource Management, AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction, the Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship, Oxford University Press, and TIP The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist. He has presented his work in conferences of the Academy of Management, the Southern Academy of Management, the Midwest Academy of Management, and the Southwest Academy of Management. Also, he has presented his work in sponsored corporate events in Latin America and provides training (pro bono) to the Houston-Galveston area members of Workforce Solutions. In addition, he serves as reviewer for Human Resource Management Review, Human Resource Management, Research in Human Resource Management, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Psychological Reports, and Management Research. He is member of the editorial board of Human Resource Management Review, Research in Human Resource Management, and the Journal of Managerial Psychology. Finally, he serves as Associate Editor of the Organization Management Journal and coeditor of Research in Human Resource Management.
