Over the last 25 years, All Stars Project, Inc. (ASP) has created a thriving youth development ecosystem that introduces high school students from economically disadvantaged communities to the broader world, including the world of work. Our out-of-school time (OST) programs have brought in corporate professionals and institutional resources as “partners in development.” This partnership with the private sector has created new growth pathways for young people who are most in need.
In 1997, we launched our award-winning Development School for Youth (DSY) program. This program comprises of visits to corporations, engagements with corporate professionals and leaders, developmental workshops, and relationship-building activities with staff. The culmination of the program involves a paid, high-quality summer internship. Since DSY’s founding, over 5,000 youth have completed the program. Their internship placements have been at hundreds of corporations and institutions, large and small, across seven cities spanning most regions of the nation.
