In this book, we have explored various themes and concepts that collectively underscore the significance of stakeholders, the expansion of perspectives in community development theories and models, and the essential role of empowering communities in Africa. We have emphasized the voices of traditional leaders to strengthen communities in terms of engagement, networking, and knowledge mobilization for and with the community itself. Therefore, the community itself as the driver of development is the core message that connects all the contributions of this book. All themes highlighted in this book have consistently underlined the interconnectedness of social, cultural, economic, and political values in the approach to community development in Africa. The need to merge various facets of African community development with historical and theoretical knowledge in the field reinforces the importance of ongoing engagement for sustainable development.
