First page of Supporting the Academic Success of Pre-Service Teachers

Supporting the academic success of the future teachers is of great importance for any institution of higher learning. Eight institutions of higher education from South Carolina were selected to be a part of the collaborative research study. These universities have successful track records in preparing multifaceted pre-service teachers who transform the classroom with their knowledge, resources, and drive for change. The geographic location is another consideration because these universities are all geographically located across South Carolina from the upstate in the north to the low country in the south and from the east coastal region to the midlands. The participation in this research study involved also a variety of types of higher education institutions in South Carolina, such as HBCU (historically Black colleges and universities) universities, public universities, and private institutions of higher learning.
