As I sit here writing this chapter, I am trying to make the decision how much of myself I want to put into this. All my life, I have struggled with having a forgiving heart. As I know no one is perfect including myself. Many things have happened, good and not so good, that has shaped me into the person I am today. I’ve come to the conclusion for many reasons that people would do what you allow them to do. The power of karma does exist. You are the company that you keep. You create the path of your future. No one should be responsible for your happiness. Some would say that I am jaded. Others would say that I am bitter. There are those that may find me condescending. However, I only tell the truth as I see it. As I continue to write this, I promise to be honest, transparent, and always direct in my point of view. My hope is that you can understand that in many cases just because you accept something, just because you love someone, just because you open your heart, does not mean that you truly forget and are willing to forgive. Because in many cases that may not be an option.
