In this chapter, a homeschool mom and her son reflect on our photovoice project where we took pictures of our homeschool experiences from January through July of 2020. Joy is a White motherscholar who, is a former public-school teacher and an associate professor of teacher education. Micah was in fifth grade at the time of the study. He is a scholar-athlete and identifies as Black mixed-race. We share this ongoing inquiry project about learning in a homeschool environment, before and during COVID, to add both parent and child perspectives about homeschool which sometimes represent the only space where the freedom to learn is possible.
