This chapter will explore the specific process of edTPA implementation in the K-12 content areas of art, dance, music, physical education, and theater which is very compatible with the subject-specific pedagogy required of each area. The unique differences for implementing the edTPA in K-12 performance areas will be explored, specifically in the areas of: teaching academic language, analysis of teaching in all three learning domains, assessment concerns, field placements, initial implementation considerations, and lessons learned from a 6-year period of implementation. In addition, content will be devoted to the context of K-12 classes, the planning of edTPA lessons to meet the needs of all students, the impact of class management and learning support in K-12 content areas, and the authentic assessment of student learning.
