First page of On the Contributions of J. Bradley Cousins to Educational Administration and their Influences on his Work in Program Evaluation

Since the 1980s, J. Bradley Cousins has worked systematically to produce an impressive body of empirically and theoretically informed scholarship in program evaluation, where his work is seen to help comprise a “branch” in the “tree of knowledge” (Alkin, 2004, 2012). Although Cousins is most well-known for his work in that field, he cut his scholarly teeth in the field of educational administration while earning his doctorate at the Ontario Institute for the Study of Education (OISE), where his dissertation won a national award from the Canadian Association for the Study of Educational Administration (1988). Moreover, his early academic career saw him working as an assistant and then associate professor of educational administration before becoming a full professor in program evaluation.
