We have begun a Social Studies Unit on People and Places. Over the past two days, the students were introduced to the concepts of race and culture. We have watched a Sesame Street episode about race and read stories that address these concepts. (See the links to these resources below). The students have also drawn miniature versions of themselves which are their visual representations of their race.
