The operation of Quality Assurance by piling contractors until a few years ago was the type required by the purchaser, which relied on the generation and duplication of considerable quantities of records this type of QA was not of benefit to the piling contractor. The paper describes the progress made by Hercules Piling, in implementing and operating a quality system to BS 5750 specifically written to fit its own method of operation, the benefits that such a system can provide and how it has now become the normal way of working.
